Different in All the Right Ways
Our degreed teachers have the experience and credentials to manage excellent classrooms. Our teachers are known for their talent and love of teaching. Our curriculum covers the core standards for each grade level, but also goes above and beyond with unsurpassed enrichment. Your child is capable of more, so why not give your child the opportunity to do more?
All of our students get to participate in two or more special enrichment lessons EVERY day they attend (see the video clips here). These enrichments classes are taught by professional specialists and include:
Students are taught by experienced teachers in a fun and expertly structured learning environment. Instructors teach a comprehensive academic curriculum, including math, sciences, and pre-reading skills, etc. that are fun and developmentally appropriate. In addition, each student gets to participate in special enrichment lessons EVERY day they attend. These classes are taught by professional specialists.
We teach to Utah's Core State Standards for Preschool and then go above and beyond with our own unique, in-house arts-based enrichment programs.
Kindergarten Prep (aka Pre-K) is designed for children who will be attending Kindergarten the following school year. Our excellent teachers and curriculum have made this one of our most popular programs. Students are taught by professional teachers in a structured learning environment. Instructors teach a comprehensive academic curriculum, including math skills, sciences, and reading skills that are fun and age appropriate. Our K-Prep students get to participate in special enrichment lessons EVERY day they attend (see examples here).
We teach to Utah's Core State Standards for Pre-K and then go above and beyond with our own unique, in-house arts-based enrichment programs. Our K-Prep Head Teacher has over 20 years of teaching experience and a Master's degree in Education. Students graduate well prepared for Kindergarten and beyond.
Our full-day in-house Kindergarten Program at the Academy is unlike any other Kindergarten program in the state. Our students create their own stop motion animation, put on a class musical, grow an organic garden, perform at a piano recital and participate in the karate belt system to improve their gross and fine motor skills. The Academy offers kindergarten age children the opportunity to study comprehensive academics in a small class size, and also receive a wonderful academic & arts enrichment experience (that research has found improves both academic and social development). Our Kindergarten students get to participate in two or more special enrichment lessons EVERY day (see video clips below).
Our teachers have the experience and credentials to teach Kindergarten. At the Academy, we only work with staff (school-wide) that have a demonstrated gift and love of teaching. We make sure that the basic standards for Kindergarten are met and then go well above and beyond. Truly Year-Round Elementary Education
Some local schools say they are year round, but they are actually "intermittent schools" with large and frequent gaps in their school year. Our Early Grade-School Program at the Academy is truly year round, and the enrichments go well beyond anything available in public schools. For the upcoming 2017-2018 school year, we are enrolling for 1st through 3rd grade classrooms that do not go "off-track". Students get to stay in school learning and having fun without experiencing frequent gaps and interruptions to their learning and special projects. The school year ends in late June and starts in early August. We also have a fun summer camp program available in July. We offer open-enrollment, if there is an available spot in the program. You may call us to inquire, if you have a transfer student.
Not surprisingly, our students end up being more academically advanced that their peers at other schools. Why shorten the school year? Students only want long breaks from learning when they are being taught in an uninspired, non-stimulating environment. But learning is, and should be, the very best kind of fun. We often hear from our families how much it means to them that their child now loves going to school since starting at the Academy.
Along with our unmatched arts enrichment lessons, our grade school age students learn to:
The Academy offers elementary age students the opportunity to study comprehensive academics with low student to teacher ratios, and also have a unique arts enrichment experience (that research has found improves academic and social development). Because our Academy is truly year-round, students get more time learning in a fun and nurturing environment than at other schools.
Extended Care (Available to Currently Enrolled Students Only)
This program is designed for working families that need to drop off and pick up their child before and/or after school begins. During this time children have supervised play opportunities, and can participate in after-school choir and other fun activities in a safe & structured environment. Extended care hours are 7:00-9:00 AM and 3:00-6:00PM.
Tuition pricing varies depending on the student's age, days attending, and schedule. We will go over tuition pricing details with you in person when you come in for your tour. We want to insure that you get an accurate quote and can answer all of your tuition related questions at the same time. Our tuition pricing is quite competitive with other quality early childhood education programs. Plus, your child gets to participate in many extracurricular enrichment classes/lessons not commonly offered at other schools, at no added charge. Tuition also includes organic meals and snacks prepared by our in-house chef. We do not try to hide our tuition pricing, but we do want you to have a hard-copy of the tuition pricing in hand, to make sure that you are not misquoted. We feel that some preschools and private schools use deceptive tuition pricing by giving you a low base tuition, but not mentioning that they will also charge multiple other fees and charge extra for meals, special enrichments and/or field trips.
Unlike most other programs, everything is included in our base tuition. There are no hidden fees. We like to run the academy in a clear, inclusive, transparent way. Every child gets to participate in every enrichment based on their schedule. We don't charge extra for weekly private piano lessons or the martial arts lessons that students receive (nor any of our enrichment lessons), because we don't see them as "extras"--they are part of our core curriculum, that is based on scientifically validated research that shows that students who participate in the type of enrichments that we offer will be more likely to be high achievers, score higher on tests later in life (including the SATS & ACT college entrance exams), be higher income earners throughout their lives, as well as have greater emotional and physical health.
The value that these enrichment lessons provide over time can be priceless. Yet, we all have limited budgets. Our tuition pricing is designed to be as affordable and flexible as possible. Call us today (801) 878-1788 to set up a tour to see our beautiful facility. Many of our families tell us that Daybreak Academy just "feels different" when they walk in the door and that they knew they'd found the right place for their child. Come see if we're the right place for your precious little one. We look forward to meeting you.
